Hertfordshire band, The Electric Modern, release their 3 song EP, Motives, and it’s a fantastic record. The band formed in 2008, and after a line-up change last year, the band have returned with an EP that’s bound to make a name for them.
The EP is short, but sweet, and is indie/rock at its very best. All 3 songs are very well sung and put together, and Motives is bound to be everywhere over the summer.
Starting with Let’s Get Away, the listener immediately knows what’s in store. It’s fast paced and very catchy, making it a fun song to sing along to, especially during the chorus. It’s an anthem of a song with a great beat and really good drumming.
The pace continues on to Time To Reflect, which has stand out vocals from frontman, Dean Canty. This song, in particular, shows that good music isn’t just what the band does best. Alongside the good vocals and instrument playing, the song also has some great lyrics that are both real and relatable.
