Singer/songwriter Alex Kelly was born in New York, and has previously worked with Robby Takac from Goo Goo Dolls. She returns with her fab new single, ‘Orange Circle’, the first to be released from her full length debut album of the same title.
As vibrant as the image on the album cover, this song rumbles in at a fast running pace, jumping and skittering in a way suggestive of a really great pop tune. Melodically catchy, upbeat, and bright, this has hit potential written all over it. Vocally, it is carried perfectly, with gusto, energy and passion. This is one to run along to on your iPod, or put on at a party, or just use as an energy enhancer for doing the washing up. Overall, the song has an effective balance between the speed of the beats, and the prettiness of the vocals, which give it a wide reach with regards to what types of people will enjoy this track.
There could be something here for everyone, with a variety of tastes, or at least for most music loving people, as the vocalist comes across as genuine, meaningful, and full of intent, whilst the music is boisterous enough that this song is highly accessible and the song is certainly unlikely to turn people off…
