A few weeks back, the brummies that are the four members of SINCE MONROE have agreed to answer a few questions to help us know them better. Let them take you to their world by reading about their story, their inspirations and their expectations.
Could you tell us more about the band, how you came together and who does what?
Originally it was me (James) and Andy that got the ball rolling, Andy had a couple of ideas for some riffs and I just put along a couple of beats to the riffs, that was the catalyst for what was to become DJ. After a few months when we had a few more ideas floating we got in touch with Rich who we knew few a mutual friend (thanks Rob) to ask to come on board with his guitar and (more importantly) vocal skills. We carried on writing songs as a 3 piece then until around October time when Rich’s brother Matt got involved with the bass though should point out he’s a really good songwriter on his own aswell. The rest they say is history.
How would you describe your sound?
Dirty and raw but it’s got that pop element and it’s the sort of music you’d listen to and find yourself tapping your foot along to without realising.
