THE STORY:
Kartica are a 5 piece indie/rock band from Sheffield. Formed in May 2008, they have steadily been building their following and reputation in their home city and beyond.
Described by NME magazine as “Solid Sheffield Indie Rock”, after a recent packed out show at the Sheffield O2 Academy 2, local reviews have questioned how long it will be until Kartica are filling the largest venues the city has to offer and more.
Blending a mix of driving guitars and heavy drumbeats with dreamy riffs and anthemic melodies, Kartica achieve a roaring sound with echoes of Oasis, The Verve, Ocean Colour Scene and The Stone Roses amongst others. Written with meaning and soul, Kartica have a range of songs that stretch from the menacing, to the heartrending.
A band that convey emotion, frustration, hope and belief.
Recent gigs with The Twang, The South (Ex – Beautiful South) and The Complete Stone Roses have seen the band’s profile rise further. In late March the band released their first single ‘Don’t You Think So?‘ and have secured support slots with ex ‘Little Man Tate’ Frontman Jon Windle, and nationally breaking band ‘All The Young‘.
